PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Privacy, in plain words. What we keep when you visit, why, and how to change your mind.

Effective November 3, 2026

Who we are

koreabnbs.com is the website of Alo (Daily Dose of Korean on Instagram, TikTok, Threads and YouTube): the Korea stays he has filmed, what Korea is like each month, and his tips for first trips. The site is run for Alo by Sound Thought LLC, a Texas limited liability company in the United States, which hosts it and handles the information described here. In this policy “we” and “us” mean Sound Thought LLC and Alo.

We don’t take bookings or payments. You book on Airbnb, Stayfolio, Booking.com or Agoda, and they handle your booking details under their own privacy policies.

What we collect

We have no sign-up form and no accounts. We collect only what your browser sends when you visit.

WhatExamplesWhy
IdentifiersYour IP address, on every visit. A random session number that lives in your browser tab until you close it.To keep the site secure and working, and to tell one visit from another.
Rough locationThe country your IP address points to. Never your precise location. To see where visitors come from.
Site activityPages viewed, which stay and booking button you tap, the link or campaign that brought you (for example an Instagram message), the page you came from, browser language, screen width and browser type.To understand which stays people look at and improve the site.
Analytics (only if you accept)Google Analytics: page views, with Google’s own random ID in your browser. Microsoft Clarity: clicks, scrolling and the page’s layout, tagged with our session number. To count visits and find pages that are hard to use.

We don’t ask for your name, email, payment details, identity documents or precise location. If you came from an Instagram message, the link tells us only that it came from a message; we don’t receive your Instagram account through this site.

Cookies and analytics

Always on, without cookies. Our own server counts page visits, which stay cards open and booking-button taps, with your IP address and the details in the table above. The session number lives in your browser tab, and your analytics choice is saved in your browser. Like most websites, our server also keeps standard logs (IP address, browser, page and time) to keep the site secure and working.

Only if you say OK to cookies. Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) then load and set their cookies. Google Analytics runs with advertising features, Google signals and ad personalization turned off. Clarity records how a page is used (clicks, scrolling and the page’s layout) and can replay it. Clarity also receives the session number our own records use, so a visit can be matched to our records; Google Analytics uses only its own ID. If you say no, everything on the site still works, and we ask again after 24 hours.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as your “no”: while your browser sends it, Google Analytics and Clarity stay off and we don’t show the banner, even if you accepted analytics before.

Change your choice any time with , at the bottom of every page. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser, or use Google’s opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.

Who else sees it

Only the people and companies that run the site, each for that job:

  • Hostinger: the servers that run this site and keep its visit records (we run them ourselves). The site’s server is in Malaysia; a copy of the records goes to Sound Thought LLC’s own Hostinger server for Alo’s reporting page and for backups. Wherever you visit from, your information is handled in those countries under this policy.
  • Alo: he sees totals (visits, countries, devices, which stays and booking buttons people tap), never your IP address.
  • Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: only if you accept analytics.
  • Travelpayouts and the booking site: only when you tap a Booking.com or Agoda button.
  • Authorities, or a buyer of our business: only when the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a merger or sale, with this policy still applying.

We don’t sell or share it

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines those terms. We haven’t done so in the past 12 months.

Some state laws read analytics cookies broadly, so we treat Google Analytics and Clarity as opt-in: they load only if you accept, and we honor GPC. To opt out at any time, use or email hi@selectbnbs.com.

How long we keep it

  • Our own visit records and server logs, including IP addresses: with no fixed end date, for site security and to understand how the site is used over time. Ask and we’ll delete the records linked to you.
  • Google Analytics: up to 14 months. Clarity: recordings for 30 days, heatmaps and totals for 13 months.
  • Emails you send us: as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. Residents of California and of other US states with privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia) also have the right to know what we collect and why, to get a copy, to correct and delete it, to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling (we do none of these), and not to be treated differently for using these rights.

Email hi@selectbnbs.com and tell us how to reach you. Because we hold no names or emails, tell us roughly when you visited and from which device or network so we can find your records. Opt-outs, including GPC, need no confirmation. We answer within 45 days. You can ask someone to act for you; we’ll ask for your signed permission. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with “appeal”; we answer appeals within 45 days (60 in some states), and you can then contact your state attorney general.

Visitors from outside the US keep the rights their own laws give them, including, in Korea, the EU and the UK, the right to complain to their data-protection authority.

Children

This site is for adults planning trips. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.

Security

Every page uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The visit records sit on servers that only the people who run the site can reach. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change matters for how we use your information, we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect.
